Common Questions

Our FAQs

Got questions about how we work, what we charge, or who we typically serve? You're in the right place.

What should I bring to my first meeting?

The goal of our first meeting is to see if the potential client-advisor relationship is a good match. Potential clients often bring their most recent statements, a list of financial and personal goals & an estimate of income and expenses. It is totally acceptable to come to the initial meeting without these items.

How do you get paid?

We charge a fee based on assets under management and is paid on a monthly basis from the portfolio. Services included in the fee are investment management as well as comprehensive financial, tax planning services & estate planning services.

How are you different from other advisors?

Voyage Point Wealth Management is unique in the industry in that we have over a decade of relevant professional experience yet many years to serve our clients. We seek to form close client relationships that span multi-generations.

Where are my investments held?

Our client assets are held at Charles Schwab. The investments are held in the client’s name and Voyage Point Wealth Management serves as investment advisor. Clients receive regular statements and secured portal access to review their accounts.

What happens if my needs change?

Client needs change on a regular basis. Additionally, market and economic conditions fluctuate as well. We believe one of the highest levels of service we can provide is addressing these changes in our financial plans to best prepare our clients for a successful future.

What is expected from me as a client?

A successful client-advisor relationship involves great communication between both parties. At the inception of the relationship, we establish communication preference whether it be the method of communication or communication cadence.

Do I have enough money to become a client?

Voyage Point Wealth Management does not have assets under management minimum requirements.

What are your qualifications and credentials?

We have been in the industry for over a decade with experience managing individual client portfolios of all sizes. We have earned both the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ® and CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST ® designations.

How often will we review my financial plan?

We believe the financial plan is the cornerstone of a successful client-advisor relationship. We strive to review financial plans on a semiannual basis. However, major life and market events result in more frequent financial plan reviews.

How do you protect my privacy and data?

Our firm follows a strict cybersecurity policy with security systems such as encryption, multi-factor authentication and limited internal access. Our privacy policy is listed here.
